Ways to Make Your RV’s Patio More Comfortable

The area right outside your RV’s front door is your RV’s patio area . It’s often covered by your RV’s awning if you have one, and is a great place to spend time after a long day of hiking, hunting, fishing or just spending the day outdoors.

Your RV’s patio area is an outdoor space, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make it a comfortable and inviting one. Here are some ways to do that.

You might think the awning blocks the sunshine or is too expensive. Let me just say from experience, you’ll get every penny out of it. Awnings are worth the investment. If you don’t have an awning attached to your RV, consider an outdoor canopy you can put outside or a portable screen room. This will allow you to enjoy your RV’s patio space more than you ever thought possible.

Having grass right outside your RV’s door is fine, but a rug or patio mat will help keep the outdoors outside and the inside of your RV clean. You’ll have a comfortable place to kick off your shoes and lounge around. They are also great because you can move rugs and mats from place to place, so they will always be with you.

Items like foldable tables, collapsible chairs and other camping furniture make camping easier and more fun! Sure, sitting in a comfy chair inside your RV is nice, but there’s something special about enjoying the patio space outside. At the very least, invest in some camping chairs, you won’t regret it.

Lighting is so important. You don’t want to attract bugs with your lights, but you need to be able to see. In short, avoid incandescent light bulbs. You want to use a light that has a warm LED bulb in it. This will attract the fewest number of insects.

When it comes to keeping the bugs away, you should think repellent. There are lanterns and torches that will do just this. They also help light your area, which is nice. Also, make sure to keep some bug spray handy. We’ve found that Dr Teal’s Rejuvenating Eucalyptus & Spearmint Body Lotion works wonders to keep mosquitos away without that sticky bug spray feeling.
